Why Us?

"Great experience"

Visitors Say?

We hunted in August 2021 at Wildrock Safaris on the Farm Secretaris near Kimberley. We were 8 hunters from Gauteng, of which 3 have never hunted.

The house we stayed in is a very nicely restored farmhouse with 4 rooms and 3 bathrooms. The house still has the original wooden floors with wooden window and door frames. It fits perfectly with the beautiful semi-Kalahari environment. We had a very nice stay and at the beautiful braai area we could had a good time in the evening. After a long day of hunting, the luxurious hangout was just the place for the day to be able to discuss hunting. The visit was enlivened by the white guinea fowl and the tame meerkat walking around on the farm. Two of the hunters were registered bird ringers who took us on the great range and showed us wild native birds. The most incredible thing about the bird life is the sheer quantity of the vultures that nest on the Camellia thorn trees. In the Bushveld we are used to seeing them on ESKOM poles or cliffs.

The field was extremely beautiful after very good rains with lots of grass and green Camellia thorns. The variation in the field type is amazing. There is Bushveld, grassland and then red dunes which makes your type of hunting options just as you prefer. We have the normal “walk and stalk”, lead hunt and even with the vehicle in the open plain hunting. There was enough game and time to give the new hunters a chance and patience give the inexperienced hunters more than one buck with one shot per buck. We got all our bucks that we planned to hunt. This is the farm with the largest Blesbuck and Springbuck rams I have ever seen. On the last day, we processed all the meat in the well-equipped slaughter room and were even able to incorporate some of the farm’s sheep fat into our droëwors.

If you are used to Bushveld hunting this is the place to come and experience the Kalahari. Priceless people that go out of their way to make your experience exactly as you envisioned it. – Andre van der Merwe (Former President Bosveld Jagters en Wild Bewaring Vereniging)
